Dean pupils reach final

FOUR swimmers from Dean School competed at the annuala Primary School Team Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

Courtney Watson, Christopher Milligan, Thomas Milburn and Ben Farnworth, all members of Workington swimming club, represented Cumbria and the North East division one in the small schools mixed team individual medley.
Competing in heat one they all put in personal best times to finish second and qualify for the final.
In the final they came seventh, a remarkable feat for a school with less than 100 children.
This was the second time Dean School had qualified for the national finals having competed in the competition two years ago.
