BANDS set to appear at Solfest have had their work sent out to an international audience.AN OUTDOOR production of Shakespeare’s comedy Much Ado About Nothing is due to be performed in the grounds of Higham Hall near Bassenthwaite Lake.THE THEATRE by the Lake at Keswick will be bringing its annual storyTree project for 12-16 year olds to Workington this summer.

A podcast of acts booked for the Drystone Stage at next month’s festival, near Silloth, has been released by Alan Whittaker, who organises the line-up.

Mr Whittaker said: “The podcast is basically the people on the Drystone Stage, as a lot of them are acts at the beginning of their careers.”

The production, due to take place on Saturday, July 26, at 3pm, will be presented by the Festival Players Theatre Company.

Tickets cost £12.50 and £9 for children. For more information telephone 017687 76276.

The project is a unique fusion of drama, music, movement, puppetry and imagination, with participants using theatre, story, music and simple props to create and present a story which will be performed to families and friends.

The three day activity and performance will take place at the storyTree base, at Cre8 on Oxford Street from Tuesday, August 12, to Thursday, August 14, from 9am to 4pm.

People can also join in storyTree at Solfest later in August when the family-friendly festival will be taking place at Silloth. .uk
