NEW KIT: Cockermouth Wasps U18 and U15 players in new strips

The U18s combined with Carlisle and the U15s combined with Durham to make full squads.

The U15s turned out in their new strip sponsored by Cockermouth Round Table.

The tournament’s U18 winners were Tynedale and the U15 winners were Morpeth.

Cockermouth/Carlisle U-18s played some awesome rugby against established, experienced sides such as Tynedale, Morpeth and DMP.

Targeted tackling, solid scrums and a never-give-up attitude kept the scores down – 12-0 against Tynedale and 22-0 against Morpeth.

Cockermouth won their final match against DMP/Rockcliff 10-0, played in the dark, under half lights.

Captain Clare Condron slipped two tackles and ran three-quarters of the pitch to score under the posts. This was followed by Emily Agnew with another try under the posts.

The new U15s team quickly improved their game as playing time progressed.

Tackling improved and after a quick master class following the first game, the scrum consolidated and was no longer pushed off the ball.

Although losing to Morpeth 36-0 and Rockcliff/Ponteland 17-10 the girls were cheered by two tries from Alice Truman and Alex Tranter.
