RAILWAY Club captain Kevin Basnett has set a record break in the 50-year-old Cockermouth & District Snooker League.
Basnett, aged 37, potted 130 points during the Workington club’s division one match against Seaton Legion.
He made league history in the third frame of the match which Railway went on to win 4-2 to maintain their top position.
After a loose break-off shot from Legion’s Steven Creer, Basnett stunned specatators by building a huge break.
He said: “During the break I ran out of position a number of times but managed to recover on each occasion with a good pot.”
Basnett, of Seaton, originates from Darlington and has been playing snooker since he was nine years old.
He won his first title aged 11 and had made his first 100 break at 16 years.
The five-times Cumbria County Doubles winner – with Rob Sim – has a highest-ever break of 145.
He once beat professional player Jimmy White in an exhibition event in Workington.
