A YOUNG entrepreneur has set up a wedding shop in Workington after struggling to find what she wanted for her own big day.
Emma Graham, 21, of Frizington, will open Wedding Decor, on Vulcans Lane, tomorrow morning.
Emma married Kelvin six weeks ago but said it was hard work getting hold of exactly what she wanted.
She said: “Getting married is a big deal and when I was looking for what I wanted to make my day extra special it was hard because I was always on the internet and looking away from Cumbria.
“This made me think I could help make it easier for people in West Cumbria when they are getting married so I set up my shop.”
Emma has also set up a hairdressing salon in her home town of Frizington and is looking forward to her latest challenge.
She said: “It has been a lot of hard work and I have spent a lot of time getting everything right but I am pleased with how it has all turned out.
“I chose Workington because the new town centre is an attraction to people and in time they will know about my shop.”
Emma has set up Wedding Decor in partnership with her mum Julie Allenby, 43, and is confident the mother-daughter link will make the shop a success.
She said: “It is exciting going into business with my mum.
“I think we have all the bases covered in terms of knowledge and ideas and that will make sure this shop is a total success.”
A first-day 15 per cent discount is being given to customers who place orders with the new firm.
