PUPILS from Brigham are sending Christmas gifts to youngsters in eastern Europe as part of an annual project.
The children from St Bridget’s C of E Primary School have filled 39 shoeboxes with gifts that will be transported to Romania through Operation Christmas Child.
Each of the boxes is marked for either a boy or a girl, and falls into one of three age ranges.
They contain items such as toys, sweets, toothbrushes and gloves.
More than 50 West Cumbrian schools are taking part by filling shoeboxes, as well as many community groups.
Operation Christmas Child is in its 19th year of operation and is funded by the charity Samaritan’s Purse.
