A NEW group is being launched to help Cumbria Primary Care Trust improve its West Cumbrian cancer services.
The aim is to give people affected by cancer the chance of becoming a member of the Whitehaven Patient and Carer Group which will be involved in influencing the development of cancer services.
The launch event will take place at The Beacon in Whitehaven on Wednesday, July 9, from 6 pm to 8 pm, and a buffet will be provided.
Ros Berry, Cancer Services Commissioner, said: “The Primary Care Trust is keen to hear from people who have gone through the experiences of cancer and can help us to learn from them.
“We want to make sure the services they receive are as good as they possibly can be”.
The event is open to members of all ages and for those who have different experiences or interests in cancer.
