STUDENTS from Aspatria’s Beacon Hill Community School will appear in Sunday’s episode of the BBC's Songs of Praise.
The students met programme presenter Aled Jones and had their photo taken with him.
The programme is coming from Gibbs Hill Farm, Hexham, where some of the students experienced life on the farm when they organised and raised funds for a residential visit last November.
Sarah Gibson, who runs bed and breakfast at the farm, said: “The students were such a credit to their school when they stayed here that I thought it would be a super idea to invite them back while Songs of Praise were here filming,”
Before she took over the B&B from her mother, Sarah was manager at the Distington Walled Garden, where she had taught some of the students horticulture and agriculture.
Beacon Hill’s learning support assistant, Gill Skillicorn, said that the students were filmed planting containers with flowers and bedding the stables with straw.
Mrs Skillicorn said: “We would all like to thank Sarah Gibson for inviting us for the day and all the other people and businesses who have supported the work of the school recently.
“These students are keen to develop their own outdoor learning space at the school complete with raised beds and a polytunnel, and local support for their project has been fantastic.”
