Conference date for walker Julia

TV presenter and celebrity Lake District walker Julia Bradbury will take on a new role in September by encouraging up to 150 delegates to consider future management and development of the UK's 14 national parks.

Julia, who recently presented a BBC series recreating the walks made famous by guide writer Alfred Wainwright, will host sessions at a three-day conference starting on September 17 at the Low Wood Hotel, Windermere.

She will introduce Government ministers and will conduct 'Question Time' sessions from delegates. The conference will look at issues of sustainable development, affordable housing and economic development. Poet Laureate Andrew Motion will be a guest speaker.
