Eaglesfield’s carnival

LITTLE monkeys, pirates and Transformers paraded the streets at Eaglesfield’s annual carnival on Saturday.

Organisers said the event was well supported. Organiser Ian Vatter, said they were also lucky with the weather.

The parade included floats, walking groups and individual fancy dress.

Eaglesfield play group, dressed up as little monkeys and won the walking groups contest.

Second place went to the Ferguson family dressed as a pantomime horse and rider.

After the parade a raffle and tombola took place in the village hall. Tea and cake was also served and every child who took part was given a free ice cream.

Money raised from the raffle and tombola will go towards a Christmas party for village children.
