A MARYPORT woman has finally won £1,000 on the Carlisle United Blues Lotto after playing the same numbers for more than two years.
Sherrilyn Grant, 49, was presented with a cheque from the football club at Cuetos newsagents on Wood Street, Maryport, on Wednesday.
Sherrilyn, of Queen Street, said: “I was shocked when I got the phone call on Monday morning. I cried at first then screamed with excitement. The money really is a godsend.
“I plan to put the money towards buying a new dining table and fridge freezer.”
She is the first big winner at Cuetos.
Sherrilyn added: “Philip Cueto has been really supportive during my time playing the lotto. He’s always cheered me on and given me hope that I’d win one day.”
The Cumbrian Blues Lotto was launched in June 2005 to raise money for Carlisle United and other sporting bodies in the area.
