Be more tolerant about street theatre
Last updated 11:46, Friday, 10 October 2008
WHAT a spoilsport the mayor and a few shopkeepers are becoming about street theatre in Keswick.
It gives a great deal of enjoyment to many people from all over the world and livens the town up just as the cafe culture will.
I hope he doesn’t want to close down the Theatre by the Lake. After all, four of the six plays produced this year had strong language, one also had violence and was sexually explicit.
You don’t get this with street theatre and it doesn’t cost £10 or over for a ticket.
Those in Keswick who are so shortsighted should be named and shamed, so that we can spend our money elsewhere. Let us all be more tolerant with each other.
