Ellenborough play in the Champion of Champions final while Wath Brow go for the Barla National Cup.

Both games are being played at Fylde RU club, Blackpool, with Elbra kicking off at 1.30pm and Wath Brow at 3.15pm.

And Elbra president Kevan Gorge is calling on the two sides’ supporters to join together to cheer on both teams.

He told Times & Star Sport: “There’s great respect between the clubs and I hope all the Cumbrian fans will support both clubs.

“Having two West Cumbrian teams in the finals just shows how good rugby league is here.”

Though they play in different leagues, Elbra and Wath Brow have played each other this season in the second round of the Challenge Cup, Wath Brow winning a tight encounter 8-6.

Gorge said: “That game was a massive advert for the game, for the talent and capability in West Cumbria.”

Elbra face the, so far, all-conquering Bank Quay Bulls, of Warrington, who head the tough Lancashire premiership.

There will be a late decision for Elbra on hooker Barrie Murdock, an ex-Workington Town pro, who has been battling to regain fitness after a collarbone injury.

Elbra and Bank Quay made the Champion of Champions competition by last season winning their respective county cups.

Gorge said that Elbra and Wath Brow both probably go into the games as underdogs but he’s certain that wins are definitely possible.

Wath Brow, who won the National Cup in 2004 and 2005, take on East Hull.
