Twice-second Aspatria finally get some silverware

ASPATRIA lifted the CFM Whitehaven Cup at Borough Park on Saturday - consolation for losing the Crest Team Wear Conway Cup and coming second in the league days earlier.
In the CFM they defeated Frizington Whitestar 2-1 with goals from Hodgson and Armfield while Wilson scored for Frizington.
Netherhall, already league champions and winners of the Crest Team Wear Conway and the Peter Dawson Benevolent cups, are through to another final.
On Saturday they reached the Ken Glover Memorial Shield final when they beat Cockermouth.
The score was 1-1 after extra time - Billy Gilmour scoring for Netherhall and Keith Skillen for Cockermouth - so it went to a penalty shoot-out which Netherhall won 4-2.
Netherhall will meet Wigton in the final at Whitehaven Miners’ ground on May 31.
