Three in title race

THE top three in the Tesco Cumberland division one all won to set up a grand slam finish to the season - with one game remaining all three could finish on 35 points.

Whitehaven Miners top the table on goal difference with Cleator Moor Celtic in second and Frizington third.

Whitehaven Miners did their title asperations no harm as they hit eight past Bransty Rangers and then inflicted a 2-0 reversal on Carlisle Spartans, who are leaving the league.

Celtic warmed up for the big clash with a 6-1 victory over St Bees and Frizington stayed in contention with a 3-1 victory over Parton Utd.
