Allerdale Leisure 4

Cleator Moor Celtic 3

Allerdale had previously beaten three Carlisle teams to reach this stage but this was to be their biggest test.

The game started at a fast pace with both teams playing some good football and showing plenty of commitment. The breakthrough came after 15 minutes when Shaun Carter's shot proved too powerful for the Celtic keeper. However, within a minute Celtic were level.

Allerdale regained the lead just before half-time when Tom Powell finished off a good move, but again Celtic hit right back to level the game at the break.

After the break the game was being played mainly in the home team’s half with Allerdale keeper Liam Hazzard pulling off some crucial saves.

But two quick breaks saw goals from Kieran Irving and Carter give the Workington side a two-goal cushion.

With four minutes to go Celtic grabbed a third goal back to make it a tense and frantic finish.

Allerdale will now play Cockermouth in the final later this month.
