In the finals at Penrith on Saturday the village teams won the U12 and U14 crowns.

And their achievement is even more remarkable considering that, so far, both sides have been unable to find a place in a league and only play friendlies apart from the cup competitions.

The U12s took on Penrith and won 6-1 with goals from Steffi Hardy (2), Rio Hardy (2) and Chloe Henderson (2). In their final the U14s were 2-0 winners over Abbeytown with both of Seaton’s goals coming through Clair Blackburn.

Seaton coach Tracey O’Fee said the girls played really well against an older and more physical team. The U14 side now goes to Manchester to play in the Tesco Cup regional finals.
