What, no cod?

WORKINGTON Sea Angling Club fished at Crosscanonby last week on a small tide. The sea was rough but flattened off. Fourteen anglers caught rockling and whiting, and again no cod showed.
First was Derek Foster with seven rockling for 1lb 10¼oz, second was Ian Murphy with five rockling for 1lb 3¾oz and third was Derek Busby with five rockling for 1lb ½oz.
Sunday’s match was moved due to the fog. Fifteen anglers fished Silloth and good bags of sand dab and flounder were caught.
First was Ron Hawley with 12 dab and five flounder for 6lb 13oz, second was Mike Laycock with 13 dab for 4lb 4oz and third was Howard Knudtson with 15 dab for 14¼oz.
In the juniors Lee Murphy won with seven dab for 1lb 15oz. Second was Matthew Smith with three dab for 13¼oz.
