Triple test at Cockermouth
Last updated 19:50, Thursday, 11 September 2008
THE triple demands of swimming, cycling and running were met by 106 competitors who completed the Cockermouth Triathlon on Sunday.
They had to swim 500m – 20 lengths of Cockermouth pool – then cycle 20k and then finish off with a 5k run.
The event was sponsored by New Balance, Jennings, Liz Hunter physiotherapy, and Keswick mountain bikes.
Many competitors did it for charity, some for fun, others for competition.
Next year there will be two triathlons in the town in June and September which, it is hoped, will be bigger and better.
