ORIENTEERING sisters Charlotte and Rosie Watson helped England to a win in the Junior Home International at Ainsdale, Merseyside, at the weekend.
Although Scotland led by a small margin after the first-day individual races, they were soundly thrashed in the relays on the Sunday.
Charlotte ran first leg for ENG1 and had a blinder, completing in 26 minutes 48 seconds.
The three runners in a team run different variations of the same route in a different order to other teams so as to prevent one runner simply following another.
This gives very exciting racing as competitors share a common control but then complete a slightly different loop. Contact with the map and concentration on the navigation is all important.
Rosie also had a great run on second leg for ENG3, which she completed in 29.28. All England teams performed brilliantly to secure the overall win.
