WORKINGTON Derwent Rotary Club’s annual charity golf competition was won by the new High Sheriff of Cumbria, Graham Lamont, partnered by his son Chris.
The event, at Workington Golf Club on Bank Holiday Monday, was played in atrocious weather with high winds and heavy rain.
The Lamonts scored 44 Stableford points, narrowly beating Jonathan Coyle and Ian Bower on a back nine count-back.
Despite the bad weather, there was an excellent turn-out, with 74 pairs competing and raising over £1,300 for charity.
