Young hens show results

THERE were 37 entries for Great Clifton Homing Society’s young hens show on Saturday when Michael Cape, of Workington Victoria, was the judge.

Results: 1, 3, 6, Hadfield and Devlin, Workington Victoria; 2, 7, 8, Wedgewood and Burridge; 4, 5, Evans and Abrahams, Workington Victoria.

Great Clifton’s show tomorrow – in the Lions Club, judging at 2pm – is for young cocks or hens.

o Workington & District IFC continue their series of shows with a competition for old cock or hen at Harrington Legion on Thursday, penning at 7pm and judging at 8pm.

o Flimby West Coast Flying Club held a show for old cocks in the Princess Royal when the judges were Ralph Palmer and Peter Dobie.

They had 46 entries and tickets went to: 1, 3, 6, Hadfield and Devlin; 2, Mr and Mrs Proctor; 4, Bromley and co; 5, 7, J and D Hine and grandson; 8, S Walton.

The show was sponsored by George Allen of Lowca. This Sunday’s show is for old hens with penning at 1pm and judging at 2pm.
