NEXT month’s War in Workington IV will be Cumbria’s first ever ultimate fighting event using a cage.
The town’s Moorclose Leisure Centre will see 14 county men compete in bouts against fighters from throughout the country in a steel cage.
Promoter Mark Hodgson, who has secured the British Army as main sponsor, has arranged four all-professional title fights for the August 11 event.
He said: “We’re looking forward to the event being in a cage. Tickets are going well, with all the VIP tables sold out already.”
Locals on the bill include seven fighters from Hodgson’s Hokushinko Fight Academy, in Workington.
