Stick with Darren

So Tommy Cassidy wants his old job back.
I can understand that - after eight weeks watching the drab and uninteresting programmes we are forced to watch on telly he must be pulling his hair out.
I truly believe Tommy left for the right reasons. He was promised an ambitious club looking to go for promotion to the Blue Square Premier and at first Blue Star did show their intention by taking Reds captain Steve Birks and made enquiries about a number of other players.
However, that soon changed and the club wanted to become Sunday league again.
Tommy is an ambitious character and did very well in his six years in Workington.
I can also understand the calls for him to come back as he did get Reds into the play-offs last season.
But it was his decision to leave, and it was the decision of Humphrey Dobie, Alec Graham and the rest of the board to pick his successor.
They choose Darren Edmondson, who they described as a ‘team leader’.
It would be a total injustice if the board decided to sack Darren and bring back Tommy. Thankfully Mr Dobie has already said there is no chance of bringing Tommy back.
Let’s hope that is the case.
