Town plan defeat of another top team

MORE entertainment awaits the Workington Town fans this weekend.

Keighley Cougars, top of NL2, are the visitors and after last weekend’s 32-10 victory over unbeaten Doncaster, coach Dave Rotheram is looking forward to the game.

He said: “Hopefully it’s onwards and upwards from here on. We had a really great attitude from the first whistle.

“It wasn’t that the players were fitter or more skilful than we have been, but we had a will to win. This win has been coming since the final whistle at Barrow.”

For those that missed last week’s game, it will be screened in the Derwent Lounge at 1.30pm on Sunday.

There will also be half-time entertainment with cheerleaders and half-time games will involve Keighley Cubs and Flimby ARLFC.

After the game there will be a race afternoon in aid of Allerdale and Carlisle service area and Workington Town community development foundation.

A club spokeswoman said: “Horses and Jockeys cost £2 each, bets 50p and there will also be a raffle all support is gratefully received.”
