Town look for two in a row

WORKINGTON Town will be looking to build on their improving form when they entertain Hunslet at Derwent Park on Sunday.
Town are now seventh and in the play-offs after hammering Blackpool 50-12 on Sunday.
Hunslet are lying 11th with just one win and seven points to their credit. They’ve also leaked 440 points in 12 games.
Town boss Dave Rotheram said: “We are now in there playing with a lot of confidence. We enjoyed the win but I have said to the boys that we have to back it up. We haven’t yet put together two wins in a row, so that would be nice.”
Town have signed former Barrow and Whitehaven winger Jamie Marshall for the rest of the season.
The 29-year-old, who left Craven Park two weeks ago due to limited opportunities there, went straight in to the starting line-up for the game against Blackpool.
Rotheram said: “He has speed and enthusiasm and feels he still has something to offer the professional game.”
The ex-Roose amateur turned pro with Barrow in 1997, and barring a short stint at the Recre, he has committed his career to the Raiders.
He boasts an impressive scoring record for the club, notching 80 tries in 168 appearances and is also comfortable at centre, hooker and half-back.
He crossed 13 times last term in 24 matches under Paul Crarey, 20 of those appearances off the bench.
But under new boss Dave Clark, he has spent much of this season in the reserve-grade trying to break back in to the first-team.
Town Reserves went down 40-16 to a strong Whitehaven outfit at Derwent Park this week.
